Carefree communities are independent-living apartment communities for active adults 55 and better. We operate two vibrant 55+ communities: The Willows in Summerlin, Las Vegas and North Natomas in Sacramento.
North Natomas offers 500 apartment homes across 10 floorplans — from a 455 sq. ft. studio to two-bedroom homes and our unique single-story Villas with attached garages. The Willows offers 300 apartment homes and 9 floorplans, many with private patios. Browse all floorplans.
No — our homes are created for you to make them your own. Every apartment comes with kitchen appliances, and washers and dryers are optional (rentals are available at North Natomas for $30 per month).
Utilities are not included in the rent; there is a flat monthly fee for sewer, water and trash.
Yes! Carefree communities are pet friendly.
Each community features a luxurious clubhouse with over 9,000 sq. ft. of amenities: an onsite beauty and barber salon, billiards and game room, fully equipped fitness center, business center and library, player grand piano, and a state-of-the-art media center with free WiFi. Outdoors, enjoy the Mediterranean-inspired pool and spa, barbecue and garden areas, putting green and bocce ball court — all in a gated community with covered parking and 24-hour emergency maintenance. Our complimentary shuttle bus runs five days a week, taking residents on out-of-property excursions, shopping trips and outings city-wide — there’s always somewhere to go on the Carefree FUN Bus.

Absolutely — guests can experience the Carefree Lifestyle by staying with a resident for up to 14 days, and are welcome to enjoy the outdoor community amenities when accompanied by a resident. We also host events where you can bring friends and family.
